Who is a Bank Teller? 

A Bank Teller is the one who deals with public and daily banking transactions, such as withdrawals, deposits and so on. Moreover, he handles inputting data and records, cashing checks, accepting deposits, maintaining systems, relationship management and much more. Assisting the customers for anything related to bank activities also comes under his job responsibilities. Also, if required, he may be asked to sell the products of the bank.

Bachelor degree in finance, commerce or economics is first and foremost requirement to be eligible for this job. More than this, deep knowledge of accounts and finance will be helpful. You should be multitasking, highly motivated and self-driven. Apart from this, you should be good at flawless communication capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills and skills of identifying fake money.

Work environment in banking jobs is obviously good enough as most of the times you have to deal with well-educated employees, but customers may be from illiterate to high-class. Working hours of the banks are fine and he is provided with desirable benefits and national holidays like other employees of the bank. There are two types of Bank Tellers- first one is for handling indoor jobs and another one is for taking care of outdoor responsibilities. Since civilized and educated people work and visit most often, they have opportunities to be good friends with co-workers and customers.
The average salary of Bank Teller is $22,800.00 per annum according to report of year 2012 in United States. Other than this, it depends on the strength and location of the bank. Next to banking jobs, career in medical field is also bright and you can think for being veterinary assistant because the bank teller salary is also more than average if you consider entry level jobs.
